This was a surprise. I'd listened to this album quite a bit before testing and I was convinced I was going to see it maxing out all the graphs, compressed to death etc. But on paper, there's not really anything wrong with it. OK, maybe some compression I could live without, but I've seen much worse.

The problem is it sounds like it's been killed in mastering, has the same lack of clarity and impact. I'm aware it's a small band and perhaps can't afford weeks in a posh studio with top engineer and that's fine of course. I'm just saying it's a shame, these songs could sound amazing.
